Pressoreceptor-autonomic oscillation; a probable cause of vasomotor waves.

چکیده
I N A RECENT study of blood pressure response to intermittent flow and outflow of blood from the circulation (I), it was observed that after suddenly ceasing outflow and then beginning immediately the inflow of blood there usually followed in normal animals a series of damped oscillations in the blood pressure. This effect also occurred when the inflow of blood was suddenly stopped and was followed by outflow. However, following progressive stages of pressoreceptor denervation, these oscillations became less pronounced and were not demonstrable after total pressoreceptor denervation. Furthermore, after total spinal anesthesia, the waves were not evident. Therefore, the hypothesis was offered that these waves are due to pressoreceptor-sympathetic oscillation, and it was further supposed, because of similar periodicities of these waves and vasomotor waves found in dogs, that vasomotor waves might have the same origin. The present study adds additional observations in support of this hypothesis which was only briefly mentioned before.

Cerebral hypercapnia-induced vasomotor reactivity in migraine with and without aura: a case-control study
Abstract Background: Dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system has long been a subject of considerable debate and a large number of studies have disclosed contradictory results. The aim of this study was to compare cerebral vasomotor reactivity in migraine with aura (MWA) patients with migraine without aura (MWO) ones. Methods: Ten MWA patients (7 females and 3 males mean age: 39.70 years, S...
متن کاملModeling and investigating the effect of ultrasound waves pressure on the microbubble oscillation dynamics in microvessels containing an incompressible fluid (Research Article)
Understanding the dynamics of microbubble oscillation in an elastic microvessel is important for the safe and effective applications of ultrasound contrast agents in imaging and therapy. Numerical simulations based on 2D finite element model are performed to investigate the effect of acoustic parameters such as pressure and frequency on the dynamic interaction of the fluid-blood-vessel system. ...

Background and Aim: Thrombosis of the cerebral veins and sinuses is a distinct cerebrovascular disorder that most often affects young adults and children. Failure in brain autonomic activity could be provoked because of damage to energy-dependent cellular membrane pumps resulting from cytotoxic edema and cerebral ischemia. Measurement of vasomotor reactivity (VMR) through Trans-cranial Dopp...

Slow magneto-acoustic waves are often observed in polar plumes and active region fan loops. The observed periodicities of these waves are in the range of 1- 40 minutes. Mainly, the ratio of damping time to the oscillation period is less than 2 (equal to the ratio damping length to the wave length), which corresponds to the strong damping regime. In general, slow magneto-acoustic waves can be da...
متن کاملClinical evaluation of vasomotor system functionality in type 2 diabetic Patients
Background: Autonomic neuropathy and vital organ dysfunctions are the known complications in type 2 diabetes Mellitus (DM). Genetic endowments involving individuals make subtle differences in physiological systems, particularly at the time of sickness. Hence, the presented study was designed to evaluate the vasomotor system in healthy people and type 2 DM cases for determining any functionality...
